The Newmarket Classic 10km Run

20th October 2019

Runner Information

The Classic Run Series 2019 will culminate with the Newmarket Classic Run events on October 20th 2019. In this addition of the series we head south to the attractive market town of Newmarket, situated on the Suffolk/ Cambridgeshire border. Newmarket is widely considered throughout the world as the home of horseracing.

Home to one of Britain’s classic races, the 2000 Guniea, you will have the opportunity to run alongside the historic Rowley Mile and experience that finishing feeling under the gantry that only the world’s elite jockey’s get to experience.

The flat, multi terrain route of the Newmarket Classic 10km makes for the perfect challenge for the beginner runner to more experienced athletes.

There are generous cash prizes available for male & female participants who finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in each event. Cash prizes are also available for male & female participants competing in the masters category (35+).

The event will also be chip timed for an accurate result post-race.

“The Classic Run Series is a fantastic opportunity to compete on the famous grounds of three classic racecourse venues. I Can’t wait to see thousands of runners racing through these iconic settings!

As with all of the Classic Series events, we aim to make the day appealing to the whole family and also to promote the ethos of getting more active, more often. It is for this reason that we will also host a 5km run event and as well as the “Classic Junior Run” and the “Classic Family mile”. There will be something for all of the family to take part in on October 20th so why not make a day of it, cheer on the kids in the junior events before taking on the challenge of the Newmarket Classic 10km.
